If you are one of those direct mail marketers then you know that one of the most important aspects in your marketing letters are having envelopes in which they can be enclosed in. When you invest in envelope printing, it is important to know the various types of envelopes so that you can imagine how your marketing letters will appear as your target markets open them.

Each kind of envelope printing type has its own appeal to people and of course has its particular uses as well. Below is a list of the common envelope types. Depending on your direct mail marketing theme and tool, one of these tips on envelope folds and types may help you in ensuring that your marketing letters are note overlooked.

Common Letter Envelopes:

Common letter envelopes are the workhorse of most direct mail marketing campaigns. These are your typical envelopes that carry personal or business correspondence through the postal service. Designing a proper layout for these envelopes is easy and most envelope printing companies support the printing of these envelope types with full color designs and even special paper.

The common envelope types for this category are the #9 and #10 envelopes with dimensions 3 7/8 × 8 7/8 inches and 4 1/8 × 9 1/2 inches respectively. Both of those are longer envelopes, perfect for a few pages of letters with marketing messages. Of course, they have a wide area, which is useful to fit a special envelope printing design if you want.

There are smaller envelopes in use as well. These are the A6 and the A7 envelopes with the dimensions 4 3/4 × 6 1/2 inches and 5 1/4 × 7 1/4 inches respectively. These are used for shorter correspondences and marketing messages. They are cheaper to print making them a perfect choice for budget marketers.

The coloured Envelopes:

This kind of envelope is a special kind, which is well suited for invitations, greeting cards and other formal announcements or communications. Most direct mail marketers refrain from sending these types of envelopes since baronial envelopes are not well suited to some postal services and machines.

However, coloured envelopes carry a unique significance unto their own that makes people want to open and read the message inside. Since a baronial envelope’s character usually portrays it as a bringer of good news, a marketing mail can exploit that character to its advantage. The typical size of a baronial envelope that can be mailed is 4.375 x 5.75 inches. Some baronial envelope can be too small however for mailing.

The Booklet and Catalog Envelopes:

As their name implies, booklet and catalog envelopes are envelopes that are used to mail or store booklets and catalogs. The typical sizes for these kinds of envelopes are 6×9, 9×12 or 10×13 inches. The only difference between booklet and catalog envelopes is the location of their seams.

Catalog envelopes have a seam located at the center, which makes it stronger. This makes it more apt to carrying heavier printed materials such as a thick catalog. Booklet envelopes however have a side seam, which is more typical of the seams of common letter envelopes. If you are mailing marketing booklets and catalogs, investing in custom envelope printing and design can really help make that mail more appealing.

Those are the major types of envelopes to use for direct mail marketing. Use these envelopes as a good complement for your marketing letter or printed material. If you design a good custom envelope in these sizes, you will surely get the attention of your market.

The bulk of the course work occurs in the CDs that include the ten teaching modules. Luke and Ryan introduce you to direct mail, since most online marketers are unfamiliar with it, and then they go further into the material. There are many factors of direct mail marketing, and it really all depends on your exact strategy. Your marketing will be a bit different and use just one small facet of direct mail. If you have ever been told that direct mail is expensive, that is partly true but is not the complete story.

If you have been around a while, then you have certainly seen other programs that use the notion of arbitrage. The first phase entails low cost post card mailings to individuals whose contact information you buy. Just as with any marketing campaign that requires cost, it will be smart to start with a low-scale campaign. You will put your excellent internet marketing expertise to use in the next phase of this strategy. You will make use of the postcard to motivate people to check out your offer you, and that means sending them to a squeeze page. That part is just like creating a list on the net which will be common territory for you.

There is much more to the general process, and it would be sensible for you to think about it. So of course Ryan and Luke include all the finer factors of the direct mail aspects of this process. Direct mail volume set to see modest growth and remain viable ...

Numerous survey have found plans for small businesses to increase their marketing budgets that coincide with reports forecasting greater direct mail revenues.

Now, PRIMIR, the company that recently published a study called “Trends & Future of Direct Marketing,” is adding its voice to the group, noting that while direct mail volumes is not set to gain rapidly, it will post small signs of growth.

“Direct mail is the largest direct marketing channel in North America. Although the decline has been precipitous, direct mail’s standing in the marketing mix remains strong,” PRIMIR noted. “Direct mail volume stabilized in 2010 and will return to positive and more modest growth, although it will be years before it reaches its prior peak.

”However, this growth will be challenged by a number of factors, including complicating postal rates and regulations and the low cost of digital channels.

Small businesses looking to take advantage of direct mail marketing strategies can employ a number of materials, including catalogs, flyers and postcards, and may even benefit from new programs from the U.S. Postal Service involving saturation mailing and quick response codes.

    Marketing Mix Made (REALLY) Easy

Next Level Articles | Marketing Mix Made (REALLY) EasyMarketing Mix Made (REALLY) Easy

    By: Jonathan McCulloch

Many business owners do not have an effective marketing mix, and instead, if they're doing any advertising or marketing at all, they put all their time and energy into only on one or two methods of bringing in new business. But a healthy direct response marketing mix is essential!

Because while taking the easy way is tempting, it's also a big mistake: not only are you wide open to having these vital streams cut off (and it does happen, with changes in trends, fads, technology and evenlaws of the land), but you're also leaving huge sources of potential income, revenue and profit untapped.

What's more your marketing mix isn't just about having many different channels of marketing in your overall marketing strategy - for example print advertising, email marketing and direct mail - but it's also about using different media within those marketing channels. I'll come back to this in a second.

What Goes in Your Marketing Mix

Let's look first at what we might call your true marketing mix - the varied media you can test.

Most business owners pick and then rely on one medium for their marketing - and they mostly stumble across it almost by accident. They discover something that works for them, and they figure that's that - their marketing is all done and they can sit back and relax.

But this is very dangerous thinking. For example, say you're a local electrician and you get most of your work from an ad you run in one of the local rags. And then all of a sudden the paper goes bust. Or you fall out with the owner and he or she won't run your ads any more. Or thyey sell up and the new guy doesn't like your face. Or some other electrician comes along with a better ad and steals all your responses away.

What are you going to do then?

Well, you're up the marketing creek with no paddle, that's what.

More than that, by focusing on just that one marketing channel. you're forgetting about the umpty-thousands people who simply don't read that paper!

Now, let's look at effective marketing within the channel.

Some people respond best to written words - like postcards, print ads, and direct mail letters. But we also know others might respond better to a CD or a DVD - spoken words and videos, in other words.

    The Ideal Marketing Mix

Ideally your marketing mix will comprise many different channels and methods of getting your marketing message in front of your chosen market: direct mail, Internet marketing (from natural search, article marketing and Pay Per Click), print advertising, radio, TV and the rest of it.

And then within each marketing channel, you should be testing multiple media. So, for example, if you're trying direct mail, you might want to send printed letters, audio CDs and maybe some DVDs; if you're, say, running ads in the local papers and whatnot, then you can drive offline traffic online and on your page test the new audio and video streaming technology, as well as copy, of course.

The only limitation to the power and effeciveness of your direct response marketing mix... is your own imagination.

Direct Mail Tips And Tricks To Boost Business – Just another Henry ...

    ]]>

There are a lot of direct mail tips out there that can help increase your business. This is by no means an “end all” resource. My hope is that I’m able to give you some direct mail tips and ideas that you can use now as a starting point to develop your own strategy.

Direct mail advertising can be pretty expensive, so it’s best you know the ins and outs of it before you start.

My first of several direct marketing tips… It typically takes anywhere from three to five mail pieces before you get any kind of response, and sometimes it takes even more exposure. For an optimal response rate, it’s best that you use a highly targeted direct mail advertising list.

To acquire a nice, highly targeted direct mail list, rent one that has some commonalities, such as the same industry, occupation, people in certain age rages, demographics, etc…

Once you have that list, write a headline that can connect with the target audience, one that will hit their hot buttons. If you write up a pretty good headline, mailing out to a solid list, there’s not reason that you can’t do better than the standard one percent response. Perhaps boosting it up to 3 to 5 percent.

Another one of my favorite direct mail tips is this… in order to find out what your audience is most interested, just ask them. Why would you want to mail out your offer to an audience that does not want it. Of course, this option is not available to everyone and some expense will be incurred in testing this, however once you have refined this process, the response to your offer will be much greater… translating into greater profits.

On with more direct mail tips… next we have postcards. They are not used too often by larger businesses and when you do find one, save it. They know what they’re doing. It’s an excellent way to reach out to your customers and clients at a fraction of the cost. It’s cheaper to reproduce and mail out postcards, and it’s especially beneficial when you can post all your content on one side and have a nice picture. I love this because the prospect or client will be forced to read your message.

Moving on with the direct mail tips… you should set up a system to track and measure all mailings you send out. You want to test the headline, offer, price, envelope, day of the week you’re mailing, etc. Once you find a number that you’re happy with, you can continue until you see the numbers dwindle, or try to beat it by testing even more.

Next, you should be using a two step process. Get your audience to first let you know that they are interested, then it will be much easier to market to them, as opposed to marketing to a cold list. Here’s one of the most powerful of all direct mail tips, when it comes to writing your sales offer… you’re going to want to use a deadline. It forces people to take action, instead of having them wait days, weeks or months, if ever to respond to your offer.

Start small, then work your way up. Test 500 to 1000 pieces first, adjust and track your numbers. The bottom line here, direct response advertising can be an effective tool, you must know how to use it.

Maximize your return by testing and comparing your data, always trying to reach for the highest response. Use some of these direct mail tips as a starting point, and learn how to implement it in your business. Your business will thank you.

Coaching By Myke | ONLINE WEALTH CREATORS

“ARE YOU RUNNING SCARED BECAUSE OF THE ECONOMY” Become a Private Coaching Client of Real Estate Investor Mychael Thompson Today and Learn Exactly How These Hard Times Can Be The Launching Pad for Your Real Estate Career.

If you are serious about becoming a successful real estate investor then I need you to read this letter very carefully. (www.CoachingByMyke.com) In this letter I’m going to clearly spell out my implementation program for getting you up and running in your real estate business and doing deals faster than you’ve ever thought possible. But I’m not going to sugar coat anything in this letter. In fact, I’m going to be frank and brutally honest with regards to what it will take to succeed since I only want the most serious and the most dedicated students. If at the end of this letter you’d like to be considered for this program, then you’ll have the opportunity to submit an application for an interview with one of my coaches to see if this is a right fit for you. ABOUT THE PROGRAM The method of finding and doing deals is very simple… it’s through direct mail. In the sea of fancy internet gimmicks and software, the “old school” method of direct mail for generating seller and buyer leads works in this market. Did you know some individuals don’t use the internet ? That’s not to say that any of the other stuff doesn’t work….but if you want the best chance possible for success then nothing beats direct mail in it’s simplicity and effectiveness. The program will consists of two phases: In phase one, I’ll work with you to get your entire marketing infrastructure in place and ready to launch your first direct mail campaign. (coachingbymyke.com) This includes getting your postcards uploaded and ready to go, your seller and buyer lists, setting up your website, your phone system, and anything else you may need. This phase will take approximately two weeks to complete. Next, Phase two is when you’ll hit the “start” button and release your marketing. Within a week you’ll have a large number of buyer and seller leads to work with and this is when your personal one on one coaching will begin. We will help you work through your leads, find the gold, and start doing deals and getting them closed. The total time we’ll be working together is approximately 4 months… more than enough time to get a few deals under your belt. DONT WORRY I WILL HOLD YOUR HAND We’re not going to spend a lot of time on the phone teaching you a bunch of concepts and materials just so that you can feel good that you are learning a bunch of stuff. Our program is all about learning in the trenches… out in the field. So that means we are going to go from standing still to speaking with buyers and sellers in a matter of just a few weeks. If this scares you then you really need to look at your goals of becoming a real estate investor because THIS is where the rubber meets the road. No matter how many seminars you attend or courses you buy you will NEVER get the results you want unless you are out there talking with buyers and sellers and trying to make things happen. ALL I ASK OF YOU I want to be COMPLETELY transparent about things here… First, my recommendation is to NOT get involved in any other courses or systems while you are working in this program. One of the reasons why I almost failed as a real estate investor is that I was trying to execute on a bunch of strategies and systems all at the same time. Once I committed to doing just one thing is when things turned around for me … and the rest, as they say, is history. Second, this is coaching and mentoring and there is a price you’ll pay for this kind of intense help. In the past I’ve charged as much as $18,000 for yearly coaching … but in this program I am making the cost more affordable for you. But keep in mind that there will be a considerable financial commitment required from you. Finally, you’ll need to have money available for marketing. If you only have a few hundred dollars a month to spend on marketing then this will not be the right program for you. Our ideal candidate should be able to spend at least $1,000 per month in marketing for buyers and sellers. This is a pure numbers game. The more marketing you put out there the better chance you have of making things happen. Yes you can send postcards a little at a time but it’s going to take you a long time to get enough leads to make something happen. HERE’S THE SCOOP OF THE PROGRAM Direct Mail -(THE WHERE & WHO) During the first 30 to 60 days you’ll personally work with my team member to set up your direct mail campaigns (and necessary infrastructure) so that you can launch your first direct mail campaign.

    * We’ll help you select a market for you based on our specific Virtual Wholesaling criteria * We will set up your custom buyer’s website including setting up all of the personalized messages that your buyers will get once they become a member of your buyers list * We’ll set up your phone system by recording your seller and buyer messages and making sure that all of the settings are correct * postcards that are proven for buyers and sellers. * You’ll receive weekly assignments to complete during this phase (so you’ll know what to do every step of the way)

Getting Down To Business At this stage you’ll have launched your campaigns and will be actively speaking with buyers and sellers. Our objective here is to help you do your first few deals. 1-on-1 Mentoring

    * first â€" You’ll have my private cell number and we can discuss anything that you need help with during this process. You can go over deals and offers, conversations with sellers and buyers, and just about anything that may come up. You’ll have a total of six “one-on-one” sessions available to use at your own pace. Typically students prefer to space these out to twice a month. * My Personal E-mail For Deals â€" You’ll be able to email me via direct email in between the “one on one” sessions. You can ask just about anything via email …seller and buyer scenarios… marketing.. deal structuring .. anything! * Deal Analysis â€" You’ll be able to discuss specific deals with your mentor while on the “one-on-one” calls. Analyzing deals and knowing what to offer is one of the most critical aspects of becoming a successful real estate investor… your mentor will help you become an expert at doing this very quickly. * LET’S MAKE THIS HAPPEN (min $5,000 you should make)

About the Author: CPA stands for “cost per action”, and in this case, the action is the site visitor filling out the form. Compare this to traditional affiliate marketing, and you will see the beauty of it quickly. Done right, it is a much easier and more lucrative way to monetize a website.

A traditional affiliate(YOU) must acquire traffic, do a good job of “pre-selling” the product, and send visitors on to the vendor site through an affiliate link, hoping to generate something like 1% to 5% sales,

grow as Internet use among consumers continues to rapidly, companies are shifting their advertising budgets on an epic scale away from traditional channels such as direct mail, print and television, interactive marketing channels like the Web, engines search, e-mail and social media. interactive marketing is often less expensive, easier to measure, and provide demonstrated a greater return on investment (ROI).

This change in business spending is fueling the interactive systemSector by 2014 to nearly $ 55 billion U.S. dollars, that 21% of all marketing expenditures, channeling budget in search engine marketing, display advertising, e-mail marketing, social media and mobile marketing will be (according to Forrester Research) to double.

    Nextel Partners

The U.S. Postal Service is particularly affected. The Postmaster projects $ 7000000000 dollars in losses the current fiscal year and a possible net loss of 238 billion dollars in the next ten years, the allocation of lossesthe massive reduction in direct mail advertising and the increasing number of email users. direct mail volume was 202 billion items in 2009. That's 9 billion less than the year before falling as the largest single investment in the volume history.

    What gets measured gets improved.

From interactive marketing usually requires users click on an ad to visit a Web page or run a specific action that almost all aspects of interactive marketing campaigns can be trackedmeasured and tested. Therefore, marketers can easily test different messages to a target audience and maximize response rates and conversions. at best â€" - Prospects can "earn interest at a later time to respond and usually in a different medium, as the measure is not through direct mail, television or billboards that can be achieved.

E-mail marketing, for example, allows companies to measure the number of e-mails are sent, delivered, opened and clicked. Search advertisingmakes it easy to track clicks. Marketing Web sites can provide a wealth of valuable information, including the number of visitors, where visitors come from (ie a search engine ads and ads ad banner or e-mail, etc.) and which pages Web visitors have clicked. Armed with this type of data that marketers can do to maximize fast, incremental improvements to their marketing ROI.

interactive marketing can increase the ROI on traditional advertising

According to a report from IBM on multimedia: "E 'There is general agreement among researchers that people listen to a short attention span of about 20% of what they hear, 40% of what they see and hear, and 75% of what they do and see. "Interactive Marketing can fall to 75% of the class as a site, such as multimedia content and containing written to the visitor.

Efficient integration of interactive marketing can increase dramatically in a traditional advertising campaign response rates overall, conversions and ROI.It was found in 2010 by insurance AIS Media Interactive Marketing Customer Survey of use that would be just 59% of insurance customers prefer to have a direct e-mail by visiting a website instead of calling a phone number to respond. Therefore, also offers customers the opportunity to raise a website in a clear and measurable response rates with minimal increase in marketing expenses to visit.

Although the concept of promoting a website in a piece of traditional marketing is easy toand do not understand the new, still a huge number of marketing today to commit the fatal mistake of projects on their home page company. As a direct e-mail or print ads generally promote a particular product or service, potential customers can simply put off-path "or confused when they expected the company homepage, where they want to see" more "on support addressed. Moreover, it is difficult to assess the effectiveness of a traditional ad is when all traffic at the samePage not unique.

The best (and measurable) target of a direct mail piece, a PURL (personalized URL). In essence, a link to a specific web page (landing page), and in particular with the traditional advertising that contains a clear call to action (ie call you fill out the application, a phone number or a purchase) match. PURLs and landing pages in conjunction with direct mail, print, TV or billboard can be used to provide high performance, multi-channelMarketing results.

3 Ways You Should Use Direct Mail to Enhance Your Online Marketing ...

Which is better direct mail or digital marketing? The answer is whichever avenue gets you a new customer, but the question is flawed. The question should be what is the best way to increase your ROI? Combining digital marketing and direct mail will increase your ROI. Don’t look at digital advertising and print advertising as competitors look at them as partners. At first glance it may seem that direct mail and digital marketing would be strange bedfellows, but they have a great “opposites attract” kind of relationships. Here are 3 ways to integrate the digital and print marketing to help your bottom line.

    1. The good touch â€" Once a prospect sees your brand and company name they are likely to remember it and pay attention to future correspondence. By combining direct mail and email you get the opportunity to touch a prospect twice to make the critical first impression; their inbox and their mail box. One person my delete unsolicited email (or have their spam filter do it for them), but that same person my look through the mail they receive. After your company makes an impression on the prospect and they start to recognize your branding all your future marketing attempts will have a better change at conversion.

    2. But I am a real Boy! â€" A decade or two ago companies were investing in websites as ways to prove to consumers that they are real. Now it’s the other way around. Every fly-by-night-pray-on-your-savings-greasy-haired-con-artist has a web site with an official looking @mycompany email. By combining a well developed direct mail campaign, with an equally well developed digital marketing campaign you create an impression of integrity and stability with your prospects.

    3. Sorry your information is out of date â€" One thing that digital marketing has over direct mail advertising is the ability to change. Find a phone number with a typo on a web site; it gets changed in 5 minutes. Find a phone number with a typo on the 20,000 piece mailer that went out last week; find a new proof reader. What that means is that print media should focus on driving people to the web. Use print to build your brand and get prospects to visit you online. Send them to your website, or your social media page. Get them to follow you on Twitter. By using this strategy all of your print materials will have a longer shelf life, and your customers will be able to get the latest information.

Blending direct mail and digital advertising will get a better response versus using one over the other ever time.

Two Great Strategies in Effective Marketing | Niche Fever Articles

Businesses actually market their business with one goal in mind: to draw in lots of profitable customers and get high return of investment. Each marketing technique works differently, so it’s important that you choose the most effective and low cost strategy to use in your business. You have to keep in mind that competition is extreme in today’s business world. In order to survive, you need to be unique and stand out in the market. Using the wrong marketing technique will only generate poor results, so it’s critical that you use the appropriate strategy.

There are two strategies that you can use in marketing your business: social media and direct mail. Social media is the latest in the digital age while direct mail such as postcard printing and catalogs are the old ways.

    Social media:

Surely, you are familiar with social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. These web sites get millions of visit per day, making them a good place to promote your business. What’s best is you don’t only get local visitors but world wide guests as well. Here are the rest of the advantages of social media:

1 â€" They help strengthen your brand and make it’s easier for people to recognize your name. 2 â€" They help develop strong relationships with your customers 3 â€" You get to receive a lot of visit from potential customers each day. 4 â€" You are easily available to your customers and prospects. 5 â€" You get to network with your target customers and get to know their needs and wants. 6 â€" If your customers are satisfied with your services or products, your customers will give you positive reviews that will help you get new customers.

    Direct mail:

Direct mail is actually an old marketing strategy that has been used for a long time now. Businesses who aim for a more personal approach go for this marketing strategy. If your direct mail is done effectively, you can be sure to get good results.

Among the advantages of direct mail are:

1 â€" It is cheap to produce allowing businesses on a limited budget to make use of this strategy. 2 â€" It can be personalized to create a design that will fit your target market. 3 â€" You can track results easily. 4 â€" You can create several campaigns that will target different niches. 5 â€" It can be used for different purposes.

One the most used direct mail marketing strategy today is postcards. These cards are widely used today as they are low cost, simple to create, and effective to target potential customers. Unlike other marketing tools, these cards do not need a lot of investment. In just a less than a dollar, you can already create a high quality but cheap postcards.

Well designed post cards are also able to get more response from prospects. Some will even display your cards on their table or refrigerator door. They can even show your cards to their friends and family, which can effectively increase your customer base. They can also be send to different occasions depending on what you want to achieve.

Producing a creative and compelling post card will indeed provide good results to your business. If you want to generate more sales and profits, then make cards that best represent your business and your goals.

The Pixel Post: QR Codes and driving effective responses

QR codes are wonderful two-dimensional codes that link print advertising, business cards, signs, anything to the internet or other encoded information about your organization. The user scans a QR code using a smart phone. The applications are free and can be downloaded easily.

A consumer can be asked to use a phone number.

    Go to a website.

You can be directed to any url that may play a video, have a coupon, or have information on a new product you may feature. Need some fun, creative ideas? We have those aplenty!!!

    Here are some ideas:

    • Have a scavenger hunt with latitude and longitude placed in the QR code that can be input into a QPS device. Place your company items or coupons in those locations. List your info on geocaching websites!
    • Activate and engage your brand experience by pointing the code to a url commercial your organization has placed on you tub.
    • Have an electronic registration form for a race or conference or event and make the printed brochure link directly the the registration form
    • Embed a coupon in your scan code
    • Send a direct mail piece that drives traffic to your website
    • Send a direct mail piece that is enhanced with behind the scenes information when they use the scan code
    • Present users with a mobile alternative for connecting with your company. What age is your market? embed sms or text message into your code.
    • Use QR codes on a poster with an event date that can link to a person's calendar
    • Add a code to your website so vistors can download your contact info
    Some facts:
    • one third of all Americans have smart phones
    • More than 100 major US brands are using scan codes
    • the cost to try scan codes is so low that the ROI is high
    • if your print piece has a laminated coating, be sure that reflection does not affect scanning
    • if you use your scan code on a curved surface, you should test it
Consider using QR codes to generate buzz, support your brand and drive active, interested consumers to your information. Happy Marketing!

Lead Generation Trends | Hamlyn Senior Marketing

A great amount of interest was generated by our Marketing Metrics document last month offering readers a copy of Hamlyn Senior Marketing’s 2011 Marketing Measurement Tools. In response, beginning with this email, we are expanding our discussion of key benchmarking points in the senior housing industry that can give you a solid platform for sales success.

In the past year we’ve noticed a major change in the desire of management to advertise in print media for their retirement communities. Five+ years ago when lead generation results for print media were strong, the industry in general resisted spending on print advertising. Now, however, we see an industry trend toward much more spending on print advertising despite the minimal lead results it produces in today’s world.

The fact is, that in the senior housing industry today it is much harder to cost-effectively reach a mass market. The lead producing ability of print advertising has diminished from a cost per inquiry of $100 ten years ago to $700+ today. Yet we see many communities grasping at straws by reaching far beyond their primary market areas in an attempt to increase sales without any justification of the effectiveness of spending on print advertising and its contribution to sales.

Today, the top three most productive lead and sales generators are:

    Resident Referrals:
    • The very best sale producer, bar none, with the highest lead to sale conversion rate. Last year, a Hamlyn-created resident referral program achieved 429 leads in one west coast CCRC.
    • The cost is minimal â€" usually just to host events for residents and their special guests plus an incentive payable only when a referral moves in.
Direct mail with immediate telemarketing follow-up:
    • Stands out as one of the most cost effective lead generators at an average per inquiry cost of only $450, nearly half that of print advertising. By targeting appropriate market niches with specific messages that resonate with them, direct mail combined with telemarketing is one of the most powerful, efficient contributors to sales success.
    E-marketing (website and internet-based marketing, e-newsletters):
    • Just beginning to come into its own in senior housing marketing. Yet e-marketing has leap-frogged into one of the top lead generation vehicles, particularly at communities targeting a well-educated audience.
    • The cost is minimal once the initial structure has been set-up (website content and design, facebook page, e-newsletter format). And email correspondence is emerging as an important tool for interacting with prospects.

That brings us to our next benchmarking topic : Follow-through is Key â€" How Well is your Sales Team Following-up on Leads? Look for our next post in a few weeks to find out what your sales team needs to do with these leads to achieve the greatest number of sales.
